Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – How To Beat The Breathalyser:
Over the years there have been plenty of urban myths but very few accurate methods on how to fool a breathalyser. One of these methods (the copper coin trick) has recently seen allot of publication as welsh rugby ledged JPR Williams attempted it in the hope of beating the drink driving test.
The British Lions star sat in the back of a police car and sucked on three 1p coins in the belief that it would really help him beat the breath test!
Unluckily for Williams it DIDNT work and like so many others who have took to these make believe methods Williams was sentenced to a 17 month ban.
Reading Williams’s story got me thinking about those dozens of other drink driving myths I’ve heard over the years and gave me the urge to write this article!
So what’s real and what’s not?
Well the fact is a breathalyser is a pretty fool proof device and while there are a very small number of tricks that may just help you fool it, the chances are that thanks to quick thinking police you would probably never get away with them anyway! So the best advice to give would be DONT DRIVE YOUR CAR AFTER YOU HAVE A DRINK!
Dose Mustard Trick A breathalyser?
No! There are very few ways of beating a breath test and mustard is not one of them! Police use a breathalyser to determine the BAC of a person (blood alcohol content) and no amount of mustard or onion will change that.
What about garlic?
There are certain results that show fresh garlic may affect the outcome, but the police know this and will only test you further. But on the plus side it’s sure to keep the vampires away from your prison cell!
Go Suck On A Penny!
For years people have believed that the copper in a penny will interfere with the breathalyser enough to sway the results in your favour but As JPR Williams learned recently! This method is definitely a no go! I’m sure it will just leave you with a bad taste in your mouth.
What if I use very strong MOUTHWASH?
Results suggest certain products such as mouth wash and mints DO affect the results of a breath test, but this isn’t a good thing! Mouthwash is more likely to increase the alcohol showing in your results! Some use this method intentionally in the hope of fighting the case of an inaccurate test. But it’s not going to work, so don’t try it.
Ill run on the spot!
Sure go for it! But this again falls into the same category as all those others such as lots of fresh air, water and press-ups and is a total myth. But I’m sure the police officer arresting you would love to see your pre prison work out.
Hyper Ventilate before being tested
There is a good chance that this will lower your breath sample, but the police have seen it done so many times that they’ll be straight onto you, it will probably do you more harm than good!
And finally…Don’t take the test!
“”My mate told me! If you don’t take the test, they can’t charge you!!!”" This would be the worst advice to give any one, not only are you practically pleading guilty to drink driving but your also refusing to co-operate with the police!
The Drink Drive Limit within the UK is currently 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood (0.8%) or % 0.08 Blood Alcohol Content (BAC).
The Conclusion
So in conclusion! I’m sure you can see for your self, there are very few ways around it! If you’re planning on having a drink, leave the car at home.

We all worry about our cars being stolen when we leave them in notorious areas, but have you ever considered the possibility that your car could be cloned? It’s the vehicle equivalent of identity theft, and the police estimate that there are as many as ten thousand cloned cars on our roads. Criminals clone the cars by making a replica of our car number plates, and then replicate the car in the same colour, registration, make and model.
